What this test does?
When you click Start Test , a file is downloaded from CERNET site that will calculate your bandwidth speed from the CERNET server. Your bandwidth speed may be affected by the following factors: being located outside of the CERNET, performing other downloads and this test simultaneously, etc.

What else this test does?
If the ICMP test is available, you can get the delay and packet loss ratio from CERNET backbone to your computer. You can also traceroute from CERNET backbone to your computer (this may take a relatively longer time).

Why do I want to do the Performance Test?
Often, users perform this test out of curiosity about what the actual throughput is to their computer from CERNET Web sites.

Who should I contact in the case of problem?
You can find the contact information form the Performance Test report. The AS number administrators are usually your network service provider. Please contact them directly.
